A cut above the rest!
Former South Tyneside College Hairdressing Apprentice, Annie Moustoifi, aged 29, is celebrating after opening her second hairdressing and beauty premises, Serendipity, in Harton Village.
Annie is from The Lawe Top in South Shields and completed her apprenticeship with Anthony Johnson and South Tyneside College 10 years ago. She then went on to open her first shop, Hairteria in 2005 and currently employs five members of staff, all trained by South Tyneside College.
Harteria has seen an increase in business due to its late night openings and the increase in wedding bookings and the demand for fashionable hair extensions, Annie comments:
“We have been really busy at Hairteria and it felt like the right time to expand the business. In Serendipity we have appointed a new Beautician, Michelle Todd who will be delivering beauty treatments, something we have never offered before. It’s a very exciting time for us; I have a great team of qualified staff who all studied at South Tyneside College including two modern apprentices.
“I have asked Amy Stenhoff, who has worked for me for 6 years, to run Hairteria. She is a fantastic and talented hairdresser so I have no problems handing over to her while I concentrate on Serendipity.”
Denise Baxter, Work Based Coordinator at South Tyneside College is thrilled to see Annie do so well, she comments:
“Annie has achieved so much in her career; it’s amazing that all of her staff have been trained at South Tyneside College and that she takes on regular apprentices to nurture the future talent in South Shields. We wish Annie and her team all the best with the new venture and we look forward to working with her in the future.”
