Student Scores Top Spot!

College student, Mark Symington aged 18 from Westoe has been accepted into Carnegie Leeds Metropolitan University to study BA (hons) Physical Education.

Carnegie Leeds Metropolitan University has a reputation similar to Cambridge and Oxford regarding its sports courses and is renowned as one of the best universities in the UK to study sport.

Mark is currently studying a two year BTEC National Diploma in Sport and is due to start University in September, he comments:

“I’m really excited about going to university; Leeds was my first choice as its reputation for its sports courses is outstanding. After I graduate I would like to move back the North East and work as a PE Teacher.
I have loved my time at South Tyneside College, all the lecturers and staff have been fantastic and I have made some great lifelong friends. “

Allen Wearmouth, Lecturer in sport, leisure, tourism and uniformed services at South Tyneside College is extremely proud of Mark, he comments:
