Tutors with industry experience

Almost all tutors who teach on our higher level courses have worked in the industry at a management level. That means they understand exactly what skills and knowledge employers seek, and they can support you better in your studies.

Study with people just like you

Coming to College provides an excellent opportunity for you to share ideas and experiences with people at the same stage in their career as you. It also allows you to network with those who work in the same or similar business sector and can be very useful in developing business contacts.

Training on your doorstep

South Tyneside College makes studying as convenient as possible. With ample car parking, within walking distance to a Metro station and at the heart of South Tyneside borough, why travel further afield when it’s all on your doorstep!

Outstanding Support

Throughout your course you’ll have a personal tutor who will be on hand to make sure you have all the help and support you need. Our experienced Student Services team is also available to give you specialist advice and guidance - such as course advice, help with applying for university, careers information and advice, and counselling or welfare advice.

Student Handbook

Every year we produce a handbook that outlines the service you can expect us to provide you.  We want you to enjoy your time at South Tyneside College and to succeed. By letting us know when we are achieving our aims – and if we fall short – you can help us to help you.

Help with Childcare

Need help juggling family commitments with study? South Tyneside College makes it as easy as possible with free childcare places to eligible students. We could pay registered nurseries or childminders on your behalf.

Support for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities

We have tried to make College as accessible as possible for anyone with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. Lifts and ramps for wheelchair access can be found throughout the College’s main areas. If you need additional support to study your course, our Additional Learning Support team is on hand to help. They will discuss any requirements you have and put an individual support package in place.
