The Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre provides students access to extensive collections of learning materials including books, newspapers, periodicals, videos, electronic books, e-resources (online databases) and a collection of music and film media for leisure time. IT drop-in and printing facilities are also available, students have access to 82 workstations, 16 net books and 37 laptops.

• Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm
• Saturday, 9.00am - 2.00pm

Hair and Beauty Salons

From pedicures to facials our Hair and Beauty department offers an extensive range of hair and beauty treatments at discounted prices. Our two salons are run by our Hair and Beauty students and are open to the public. So after a hard day at college why not choose to end your day with a relaxing facial or full-body massage.

Eating in our Refectory or Restaurant

It’s not all about working hard, it’s also about playing hard. Spending quality time with friends outside of class could not be simpler. Start the day with a hot breakfast, or ‘do lunch’ with your friends in our popular Refectory 'Eat'. In addition there is a wide selection of hot/cold healthy and nutritious snacks along with a variety of hot and cold drinks. Or for that fine dining experience, why not visit our student run ‘Bistro 150’ restaurant? Combining speciality dishes with first class service, our Hospitality and Catering students prepare you culinary treats at very affordable prices.

Lifestyle Centre

Why not try our exclusive fitness centre at our South Shields campus? The Lifestyle Centre includes a modern, well-equipped gym with a good range of the latest cardiovascular machines and free weights; as well as a sports hall and playing field with a range of activities.
