I am concerned that I won’t be able to afford to attend college?
We are determined that financial barriers will not prevent you from attending college. Our experienced Student Services team can give you advice on making the most out of money and where to go for additional help.
I find it difficult to fit in and make new friends; is there a service you offer to help me meet new people?
We are committed to ensuring that every student enjoys their time with us. Our Freshers’ Week has plenty of activities which are designed to help break down barriers for new students. We also run a full Enrichment Programme, enabling you to meet new people from across the College.
I have learning difficulties, what facilities are available to support me through my studies?
If you need additional support to study your course, our Additional Learning Support team is on hand to help. They will discuss any requirements you have and put an individual support package in place. For further information please use our general enquiry form to contact our Student Services team.
Is there a student body at South Tyneside College?
Yes there is. Our Students' Union is here to represent you – the student. Run by students, for students, with elected officers voted in every year. In the past the Students' Union has got involved in organising a number of events, including a red nose day record breaking attempt.
I don’t have access to a computer at home, what facilities are available at the College?
We have fantastic IT facilities throughout the College, with dedicated suites containing current software and internet access for all students. Our Learning Resource Centre, also equipped with PC’s, provides the perfect setting to complete your work in outside of class.
I enjoy the environment of a college; can I study higher education courses there too?

I have no formal qualifications, but I would really like to eventually study a Higher Education course?

I am an employer looking for staff training do you have any suitable courses?
We offer a wide range of courses specifically designed for employers. Our skilled assessors work closely with you to ensure any training meets your exact requirements. We can also offer you bespoke training packages. For further information on Employer training please visit our Employers section.
