CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (STL)
Course summary:
The qualifications aim to enable learners to understand the roles and responsibilities of those involved in supporting teaching and learning, and provides an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to do this effectively.
Course content:
Learners must be available to attend a 3 hour taught session per week and commit to finding and attending a voluntary placement for 3 hours per week in a primary or secondary school.
Screening of candidates English and Maths skills will take place prior to enrolment. On successful entry to the programme learners will be expected to attend a session each week, outside of the main programme, to improve their skills to a minimum of level 1 in both Maths and English.
Learners must have a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Assessment procedure:
Internally assessed and externally moderated portfolio. Knowledge of units assessed via assignments. Competency of skills assessed during observations of practice in placement.

No formal entry requirements.

CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (STL)
Progression opportunities:
Successful completion of the course enables learners to progress onto the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (STL) or employment.
