BTEC Diploma in Operations and Maintenance Engineering
Course content:
Year 1 Units - Business Systems for Technicians, Communciatons for Technicians, Mechancial Principles, Mathematics for Technicians, Engineering Maintenance Procedures & Techniques, Health Safety Risk Assessment & Welfare in the Engineering Workplace, Engineering Drawing for Technicians, Electrical & Electronic Principles.
Year 2 Units - Engineering Project (Double Unit), Further Mechanical Principles & Applications, Electro, Pneumatic and Hydraulic, Systems and Devices, Electrical Installation, Monitoring & Fault Diagnosis of Engineering Systems, Electrical Technology, Further Mathematics for Technicians, Computer Systems.
Additionality and Key Skills at an appropriate level will also be studied alongside this qualification.
Assessment procedure:
This course is assessed using a mixture of coursework, assignments and projects.
The qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
Awarding Body - EDEXCEL
Entry requirements:
Applicants will be expected to have at least a BTEC First Diploma in Engineering or 4 GCSE passes at grade C including Maths/Science/English.
Qualifications achieved:
National Diploma in Operations and Maintenance Engineering
Progression opportunities:
Successful students can progress into jobs with a wide range of employers or go to universities or other higher education institutions to study for Higher National Diploma and degree qualification.
