Students' Union

The Students’ Union is here to represent you - the student - during your time at South Tyneside College. Run by students, for students, with elected officers voted for every year by their peers; convincing others to elect you is where the challenge begins!

If you’re looking for a challenge, or a say in how the College is run, getting involved in the Students’ Union could be for you.

Not only does it look great on a C.V., or a university application, you could even become the next President.  If you don’t fancy running for President there’s lots of other positions for you to get involved in. For example you could be the next marketing or entertainment officer.

You don’t have to play a huge role in the Union. If you’ve just got a simple interest, why not show it off by forming your own group or society? Previous years have seen everything from a chess club to a circus act society.

You could also get involved in organising events. In the past the Students’ Union has organised an environmental fair, a summer ball and a red nose day record breaking attempt.

Whatever your involvement, as well as being lots of fun, it could help develop skills you might find useful in a future career.
