Course summary:

This 12 week course provides learners with opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills and experience various aspects of an industry in which they have a desire to work in or further their studies in.  An excellent foundation from which to build a career on!

Course content:

ASDAN Award of Personal Effectiveness Level 1

• Making the most of leisure time
• Preparation for work
• Managing own money
• Healthy Living

Wider Key Skill – Improving own Learning and Performance Level 1

• Confirm targets and plan how to meet these
• Follow your plan to help meet the targets and improve your performance
• Review your progress and achievements

Course structure:

Your time in college will be split between attending the Core Sessions (working towards the ASDAN and Key Skill award) and attending your chosen option sessions. You will be required to attend a minimum of twelve hours per week.

• Building Trades
• Call Centre / Customer Services
• Care
• Creative
• Travel and Tourism

Assessment procedure:

A variety of assessment procedures will be operating, predominantly through portfolio building.

Entry requirements:

Although there are no formal entry requirements, learners must be 16-18 years of age. All applicants will have a personal interview at the college.

• ASDAN Award of Personal Effectiveness (L1)
• Wider Key Skill – Improving own Learning and Performance (L1)
