Fees and Finance
You probably have queries relating to fees and finance options. Don't worry about it, the details below show what could be available to you.
Many of our students study absolutely free. You may be eligible for FREE study if you are:
- Studying a course of over 9 hours a week (certain restrictions apply - please ask us for details).
- Unemployed and receiving Jobseekers’ Allowance
- In receipt of one of the following income-based benefits:
Council Tax Benefit (not single occupancy tax relief)
Housing Benefit
Income Support
Pension Guarantee Credit (up to certain limits only)
Working Tax Credit (up to certain limits only)
- The unwaged dependant (as defined by Jobcentre Plus) of those listed above.
- An asylum seeker/dependant in receipt of the equivalent of income-based benefit.
- Aged under 19 years of age on 1 September 2008
- Applying for your first Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
Learner Support Fund
Our Learner Support Fund provides extra help for students in most financial need. Although the fund is limited in size, we may be able to help with extra course costs such as books, travel, equipment and study visits. Lone parents, disabled learners and ESOL or Basic Skills learners may also qualify. For more information please contact us.
Adult Learners’ Grant
The Adult Learners’ Grant is a Government initiative which gives eligible learners up to £30 a week for coming to college. Students must be:
- Aged 19+ and studying towards a first full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification from September 2008
- NOT in receipt of an out of work benefit e.g. income support, job seekers allowance or incapacity benefit
- Have a household income of less than £19,513 per annum if you live alone, or £30,810 if you are co-habiting
To qualify for this grant you must complete over 12 hours of class-based study a week. The grant is paid directly into your bank account. Claims are subject to financial assessment. For more information please contact us.
