This part time qualification is suitable for those wishing to develop their understanding to work within the healthcare force or those who are currently in employment and wish to enhance their knowledge and skills and gain a level 2 qualification.

It aims to guide and assess the development of practical skills for those who wish to work in a supervised support role within the healthcare workforce.  This qualification would give potential employees the knowledge required to enter the NHS as a variety of essential areas of health and social care are studied including;

  • The role of the health and social care worker

  • Equality and diversity

  • Health and safety

  • Infection control

  • Personal development

Entry Requirements top

Experience of the health and social care sector is desirable however, an interview with Health and Care staff will be undertaken to assess the learners suitability for the programme.  Learners are also required to complete a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

This course is great for all those who wish to work or are working in a supervised role with adults in health and social care environments.

Assessment top

The course is assessed by your tutor or assessor using a range of methods. This could include direct observation in the workplace, a portfolio of evidence or written assignments.

Professional Opportunities top

On successful completion of this qualification learners may progress to the CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services (part-time).

Potential employment opportunities may include; care assistant in residential settings or supported living, healthcare support workers in community and primary care environments and healthcare assistants in acute health environments.
