This is a short course that will develop knowledge and understanding of a healthy balanced diet for a school age child and the importance of exercise for their health and development. Each session lasts two hours over 4 weeks and the following subjects will be covered;
A healthy balanced diet for a child and current nutritional guidelines.
Planning healthy nutritious meals and pack lunches.
Ideas to increase your child’s fruit and vegetable intake.
The importance of exercise for your child.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
There are no assessments for this course.
After successful completion of the course you will have a better understanding of nutrition and exercise for children. You may wish to apply for other health, care and early year’s courses to further extend your knowledge in this area.
