This qualification focuses on practical skills and knowledge. Learner will gain practical experience and understanding of some of the situations that they could face in a job role within the engineering sector. This qualification has been designed to give a ‘hands on’ practical approach to basic motor vehicle maintenance. It covers the foundation level knowledge required to successfully understand a range of areas from wheel replacement though to fluid level checks and what is involved in basic routine vehicle maintenance tasks.
The course is ideal if:
You have limited prior knowledge and understanding of how to maintain your vehicle. Also would serve as an introduction to give the background knowledge to the motor vehicle sector if you are thinking about taking up motor vehicle maintenance as a career but would like some practical experience of job roles first.
There are no formal entry qualification requirements to study this course, but you should have an interest in learning new skills, and a positive approach to learning.
Literacy and numeracy levels must be sufficient to comply with the health and safety aspects of the course, and the assessment requirements.
Learners will be assessed through carrying out set tasks both practical and knowledge based.
Learners can progress onto other Motor Vehicle Courses
The course also facilitates progression to employment, and an apprenticeship.
