Overview top
This two day refresher course is aimed at providing further training to experienced Marine Engineering officers who regularly supervise and/or implement marine and offshore high voltage switching operations as an "authorising officer". The course will also be valuable for Engineer Surveyors, Marine Superintendents, ETO and SETO roles.
South Shields Marine School have a range of modern marine high voltage electrical facilities and equipment which are used during extensive practical exercises.
The emphasis is on the safe working practices and procedures which should be followed before, during and after any high voltage work is undertaken.
Upon completion candidates will have knowledge of:
- Multiple system arrangements and drawings
- PPE requirements
- Roles and responsibilities
- Recent updates
- Equipment arc ratings
- Fault levels
Entry Requirements top
Candidates must have:
- MCA approved High Voltage Training – Management Level
Assessment top
Assessment of each candidates will be ongoing throughout the duration of the course via practical assessment and multiple choice test.
