The syllabus for this course is as per MNTB guidelines dated February 2014 relating to STCW 95 code section A-V1/4-2.

Entry Requirements top

You should hold a Medical Care Aboard Ship certificate or Medical Care Refresher.

Assessment top

Assessment is through an oral examination by an MCA approved examiner.

Professional Opportunities top

There is a five-yearly refresher requirement under EU directive for persons in charge of medical care on board ship, which is a pre-requisite for the issue of a Class 2 Certificate.

The responsibility for eligibility for entry to the MCA examinations including correct documentation and sea service rests with the student and not with the college.
