The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports is a continuation and top up to the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Esports qualification studied at South Tyneside College. Upon completion of this course learners will have a qualification equal to 3 A-levels.

The course continues to build upon the specialisms and skills developed in the first year. Learners will develop a range transferable skill that enable learners to experience
different areas of Esports to aid their progression to employment, either directly or via further study at university. During this year learners will have the opportunity to plan and manage their own Esports events and develop their own Esports brand as part of their assignments.

The skills developed during this course will also allow learners to develop skills in other areas of the creative media industries such as, Games, Design, Video Production, Marketing, Public relations, ICT and more.

Entry Requirements top

Learners who wish to study the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Esports will have had to previously completed the BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Esports at South Tyneside College or other educational establishment.

Assessment top

The course will build upon the units studied in the Foundation Diploma and learners will continue to study units each focusing on a different aspect of Esports. Each unit is assessed through assignments, which are set and marked by the course tutors, using a variety of assessment methods.

Professional Opportunities top

Learners who successfully complete the course will have the opportunity to progress to Higher Education at University to continue their study the many Undergraduate degrees on offer in Esports or other creative subjects.

Some Learners may progress directly into employment in following the completion of this course and as Esports is not just about playing games and there are many careers that you can progress into including:
•    Esports player
•    team coach
•    shout caster and presenter
•    social media influencer
•    video production editor
•    data analyst.
