City and Guilds 2850 Level 2 Machining and Manufacture

This course is for students, with an interest in Engineering, CAD CAM, manual lathe work, hand fitting skills and CNC.

This programme covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices.

This programme focuses on practical skills and knowledge, where learners will gain practical experience and understanding of machining and manufacturing.

You need to have English and Maths GCSE (Grade 4)

Unit 301 Engineering will be assessed by a multiple-choice online exam.

For hand fitting, turning and CAD CAM learners will produce practical test pieces which will be assessed by the lecturer. There will also be a short paper-based exam for each unit.

This qualification gives a greater opportunity for employment as an apprentice engineer.
