Level 1 Diploma in Employability Skills aged 16-18
Overview
The Level 1 Diploma in Employability Skills is designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.
The qualification is aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; get into a job, develop on the job or move onto the next job, as they progress along the career ladder.
The qualification has been designed in collaboration with a range of experts from various industry sectors, training providers and employment and recruitment professionals to ensure the content matches what is needed and valued by today’s employment market, also meeting the needs for study programmes and Traineeships.
All students also study English, Maths and IT skills alongside the Employability Skills diploma.

Students also study English, Maths and IT skills alongside the Employability Skills diploma.
Students have progressed onto the following courses in mainstream:
Level 1 Motor Vehicles
Level 2 IT and Computing
Level 1 Health and Social
Level 1 Performing Arts
Level 2 Media
Level 1 Art and Design
Level 2 Manufacturing
The course is mainly classroom based and in the library.
All of the course assessments are done online which also supports IT skills for all students.
All students also have work experience with Auxillia Youth as well as community based experience such as VIY.
Timetable is Monday – Thursday.
Learners can begin on the Entry Diploma in Personal Progress for one year before starting the Level 1 Diploma in Employability Skills.
