Are you in school or a school leaver? Life after year 11 is an exciting time, you get to choose what you want to study, learn all about your passion and meet new people. But, you could still be unsure on your next steps, despite having careers interviews at school and taking part in a lot of careers-related activities.
While your friends might know what they want to do next, many young people feel the same as you right now. That’s why our dedicated School Liaison Team is here to help you – no matter how big or small you think your questions may be.

LOOKING AFTER OUR STUDENTS
At South Tyneside College, it’s our duty to protect you. While every student’s circumstance is different, everyone should feel safe, secure, valued and respected. Whether that’s looking after those who are vulnerable or adapting college life to work for you, we make sure you’re supported in every way possible.
Tutorial Coaches
All full-time students aged 16 to 18 are given their own Tutorial Coaches. Your Tutorial Coach is there to support you throughout your time with us and will:
- Have one-to-one progress reviews with you
- Let you know what Additional Learning Support is available
- Give you information and advice about anything you need
- Be there if you just need a chat
