Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies (IT – Information Technology)
Overview
Learners will develop the necessary transferable and sector skills to progress more quickly.
This qualification prepares learners for progression to Level 2 BTECs or other study programmes.
*This course is available for 16-18 and 19+ learners.

- A3 Working with Others
- A4 Researching a Topic
- B7 Branding a Product
- B12 Communicating with Customers
- IT5 Developing Digital Information Using IT
- IT6 Using Digital Communication Technologies
- IT8 Creating a Spreadsheet to Solve Problems
- IT9 Creating a Website
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.
On successful completion of the BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies (IT – Information Technology), learners may progress to similar learning at the same or a higher level, including the Level 2 Information and Creative Technology or other Level 2 BTEC courses.
Assessment is through a portfolio and assessment work.
Course duration: one year
For students aged 16-18 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English, these subjects will be included in your timetable along with your main course. Improving your skills in Maths and English is essential, as these qualifications open doors to further study and career opportunities.
Our teaching team will work with you to help you achieve the grades you need, building confidence in these key areas to support your future success.
All 16-18 students must study maths and/or English as part of their main study programme, there is no option to study maths and/or English on its own.
