Entry 1 Diploma in Personal Progress aged 16-18

OVERVIEW

This course is for ESOL students to become more independent and effective in life, learning and work with the Personal Progress qualification. This qualification is designed to help students build skills and knowledge in a wide range of areas, such as communication, reading and writing, mathematics, independent living, workplace skills or engaging with the world around you.

The Personal Progress qualifications are for young people or adults with learning difficulties.

There are no entry requirements.

Delivery of sessions are Monday-Thursday on timetable.

There are no entry requirements.

Students can be new to the UK and do not need to speak English.

Portfolio, including written work where possible, recordings, pictures and other media.

Unit 001 Developing communication skills (3 credits)

Unit 026 Developing self-awareness: all about me (3 credits)

Unit 029 Engaging with the world around you: people (3 credits)

Unit 030 Engaging with the world around you: events (3 credits)

Unit 031 Engaging with the world around you: objects (3 credits)

Unit 025 Getting on with other people (4 credits)

Unit 015 Developing skills for the workplace: getting things done (4 credits)

Unit 016 Developing skills for the workplace: following instructions (2 credits)

Unit 027 Rights and responsibilities: everybody matters (3 credits)

Unit 023 Developing learning skills: learning to learn (5 credits)

Unit 004 Developing ICT Skills (4 credits)

 

Students also study ESOL English, phonics, and Maths alongside the course.

Level 1 Dip in Employability Skills.

Some students may progress to Foundation Learning if have SEND needs.

The course is classroom based and in the library.

Students will do work experience in The Globe shop on site at STC.

Students also engage with Auxiliia Youth for team building skills.
