Now, is your time to take the first steps towards an engineering career with our NEW Ford Engineering Academy. 
The Ford Engineering Academy is a pre-apprenticeship programme and has been designed to help you develop the relevant engineering knowledge and skills as well as the opportunity for work experience while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

As part of the programme, you’ll study a City and Guilds 2850 Level 2 Machining and Manufacturing at South Tyneside College which covers the basics of engineering to allow you to gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Your studies will be a mixture of practical, hands-on study in our state-of-the-art engineering workshops as well as classroom-based learning to help you develop the core theory and knowledge.

What’s more, our Prep for Work teams will support your work readiness skills with CV writing, interview preparation as well as assessment practice.

Through Ford Engineering’s network of employers, they’ll also support you in securing a work experience placement to help you a gain experience in a real working engineering environment.

This course is aimed at beginners taking the first step towards a career in engineering and manufacturing. There are no formal entry requirements for the course but students will need to have a strong interest in pursuing an engineering career.
