Award in Oxy-Acet Welding (3268)
OVERVIEW
This course is intended for those who want to obtain the basic skill of oxy-acetylene welding.
You will have 45 hours to complete this course. The course is flexible and held throughout the year. This course will run on a Tuesday night from 5:00 – 7:30.
The Level 1 qualification is for those who aim to enter into the industry and for those who wish to gain a welding certificate for their own personal skill development.
No specific prior qualifications, learning or experience are required for candidates undertaking the qualification. However, candidates must have the potential and opportunity to be successful in gaining their qualification.
Each learner will have to produce the following practical assessments.
- Beads on a plate
- Produce a lap fillet weld
- Produce a brazed tee fillet joint
- Produce a brazed tee fillet joint
- Produce a corner weld
There will also be a oral examination on the oxy-acetylene process.
Once you have completed this course you can then do another welding process at level 1 or continue on to do a level 2 welding qualification.
