CACHE Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care Level 1
COURSE OVERVIEW
This short course (6 weeks) will introduce and develop the basic knowledge and understanding of the adult social care sector. It is aimed at those learners who wish to explore roles in the health and social care sector and provides a pathway into the sector for individuals considering a career in this field or those returning to work after a career break.
A number of essential areas of health and social care are studied which are;
- Introduction to the adult social care sector
- Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care
- Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care
- Awareness of communication in adult social care
- Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker
Learners must be aged 19+ to apply for this course.
An interview with Health and Care staff and a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
The course is assessed by your lecturer including written assignments and a portfolio of evidence.
The Level 1 Award in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care allows for progression to the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or the Level 2 Diploma in Care.
