VTCT Skills NVQ Certificate Level 1 Beauty Therapy 

OVERVIEW

This qualification is intended to provide an understanding of the sector and the vocational skills and knowledge required at level 1 standard. It is an introduction to the beauty sector and provides an awareness of the range of job opportunities and work settings with in the industry.

Mandatory Units:
  • UG31G20 Ensure responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety
  • UG111G3 Contribute to the development of effective working
  • UB100B1 Prepare and maintain salon treatment work areas
Optional Units:
  • UB100B2 Assist with facial skin care treatments
  • UB100B3 Assist with day make-up
  • UB100N1 Assist with nail services

As part of the course, you will also take part in an external work placement to help you develop your
confidence and skills to stand out from the crowd.

The assessments for the qualification require the candidates to undertake:
• Practical tasks which will be observed
• Knowledge and understanding assignments

Successful completion will allow progression to:
Level 2 Hairdressing
Level 2 Beauty

Kit will be provided.
