Students from our Supported Internship programme in Foundation Studies have proudly contributed to Hospitality & Hope’s annual Christmas Appeal, helping to collect essential items for emergency food parcels for individuals and families in need this winter.

The response was incredible — students and staff across the college came together to donate a wide range of everyday items that many people struggle to afford. The generosity shown has been overwhelming and will make a real difference to our local community.
As part of this initiative, the department ran a festive Advent Calendar donation chart to track progress and encourage contributions. A bit of friendly competition added to the fun, with prizes for offices completing half or all their calendar—including car valeting and Coffee Shop vouchers.
Dean Long, Foundation Learning Lecturer, praised the students’ initiative and the generosity of staff:
This has been a fantastic effort from everyone involved. It’s great to see our students leading projects that support the community.
Wayne Madden, Digital Manager for Hospitality & Hope added:
We really appreciate the college's donations and their continued support; the impact these donations will bring far extends into our shared borough through our crisis support services. With many families and individuals facing difficulty this Christmas, we know demand will be greater than years previous and your donations make an undeniably positive impact. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed.
Our students regularly support Hospitality & Hope through fundraising and will continue to do so with work experience and placements.
