South Tyneside College is proud to continue its partnership with Ford Aerospace Ltd, an award-winning manufacturing company with over 115 years of innovation. Through the Ford Aerospace Apprenticeship Academy, students gain real-world insight into engineering and manufacturing careers, helping to build a strong talent pipeline for the future.

Congratulations to Izzy York, who has been named the first Student of the Term as part of the Ford Aerospace Academy initiative. Izzy, from Mortimer, is studying our Level 2 City & Guilds Engineering and Manufacturing programme.
Her passion for engineering started at the age of six, inspired by her dad’s mini soldering projects. She later specialised in Engineering at GCSE, and with her brother previously studying at the college, South Tyneside College felt like the perfect fit.
Izzy earned this recognition for 100% attendance and punctuality, consistently producing high-quality work and showing an eagerness to learn.
A South Tyneside College Engineering Lecturer commented,
This is just the start for Izzy. Her commitment, enthusiasm, and curiosity represent exactly what the Ford Aerospace Apprenticeship Academy aims to support. We’re incredibly proud of her progress and excited to see where her engineering journey takes her.
With planned visits to Ford Aerospace’s branch site, we’re excited to see our students flourish in this dynamic industry.
